Online Therapy

Convenient Help When You Need It, Wherever You Are

Over the years, I’ve worked with many people who either travel for work or who have difficulty getting out of the office or their home for appointments. For these people, seeing someone in a traditional therapy office was out of the question and they were left without any solutions.

When I began offering online therapy, I was nervous that it would feel impersonal or disconnected. I feared that having sessions through video would keep me from being able to provide the best therapy to my clients.

Boy was I wrong.

Similar to Skype, online therapy works just as well – if not better – than traditional in-office therapy. From the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere you choose, you get to have a full session without needing to worry about traffic or setting aside additional time out of your day to travel to the office.

Online therapy also allows me to work with people who live across New York State and who may not have access to high-quality providers where they live. I’m able to work with anyone whose permanent address is in New York, so even if you’re not local to the Capital Region, we can work together.

In a lot of ways, online therapy is very similar to in-office therapy. There’s no confusing software to download or install. All you need is an internet connection and a device with camera and microphone access. You may also want to have a pair of headphones for privacy.

So How Does It Work?

When you’re ready work with me exclusively online, you’ll start off by scheduling a free consultation with me. Give me a call or send a message. You’ll hear back from me today!

During your call, I’ll ask you some questions and allow you to ask me anything so that we can see if we’re a good fit for each other. After your consultation, I’ll email you a link to your client portal where you can complete the intake paperwork at your leisure prior to your first session.

You’ll also receive a link to your virtual “waiting room,” and you’ll use this same link to attend every session. A few minutes before your session, you’ll simply click the link and wait until I begin the session. It will look just like FaceTime or Skype, only it will be a secure, HIPAA compliant connection to ensure your privacy.

Can I Use Insurance To Pay For Online Therapy?

Yes you can! All you pay is your copay. How easy is that?!

I am in-network for CDPHP and out of network for all other insurance companies. If you have a different insurance company, give them a call to ask the following questions:

  • Does my plan cover out of network mental health providers?
  • Does my plan pay for telehealth?
  • If so, do I have a deductible to meet first?
  • What is the reimbursement rate?

Once you decide to work with me, if you’re out of network, you pay my session fee, $150, out of pocket and I give you a statement for insurance reimbursement, which gives you everything you need to seek reimbursement from your company. Otherwise, I submit your claim directly to CDPHP.
